EDNA is excited to introduce Taupo's very own designer, Alise Dumble, and her limited edition collection alise. - launching this Labour Weekend!
A proud advocate of the slow fashion movement, Alise brings a thoughtful, sustainable, and ethical approach to every piece she creates. With each garment lovingly handmade, her collection embodies creativity, craftsmanship, and respect for the environment.
A Personal Touch in Every Design
Alise’s passion for vintage textiles and commitment to sustainability is woven into every design. Each piece in her collection has been meticulously crafted by hand, using patterns she drafts herself. Her materials? A treasure trove of upcycled fabrics, handpicked vintage finds, and carefully selected textiles. Alise’s attention to detail doesn’t stop there - her low-waste philosophy means that the off-cuts are saved for smaller accessory projects, ensuring there is little waste.
Artistry in Fashion
Alise’s artistic background shines through in her collection. With a love for drawing, painting, and printmaking, she loves to have fun & be creative with her creations, ensuring every single item is a unique piece. Alise’s flair for creativity has also seen her sewing her own vintage-inspired garments, and also costumes for the local theatre.
Where does this passion come from? “I started sewing when I was 11 and immediately fell in love with it! My interest in sustainable clothing began in 2010 when I attended a week-long Sustainable Fashion course at Central Saint Martins school of art and design in London. I’ve also completed the first year of a Fashion Design degree at Massey University in Wellington - I then went on to do a degree in Art History! explains Alise”.
