When you step into Edna, the first thing you might notice is the burst of colour that greets you. But what’s even more striking is our glowing counter, crafted from 100% reclaimed plastic waste made right here in New Zealand! Some say it’s illuminated, others say it’s simply breathtaking - but we know it’s all thanks to Critical Board.

What is Critical Board?
Made in Auckland, Critical Board repurposes hard-to-recycle plastic waste from across Aotearoa. Using a blend of post-consumer plastic packaging and soft plastics, this tough, translucent material is low-carbon, waterproof, and ultra-durable. Its resilience means it’s perfect for high-use areas like our counter and jewellery cabinet, which need to stand up to daily wear and tear.

Sustainably Strong
Not only is Critical Board incredibly tough, but it also doesn’t chip and requires no finishing or sealing - making it a low-maintenance option with zero nasty additives. Whether it’s handling the hustle and bustle at our counter or displaying jewellery in style, this material is a practical, sustainable choice for creating a unique, eco-friendly space.

A Circular Solution
One of the coolest things about Critical Board is that at the end of its life, it doesn’t go to waste. Critical will actually buy it back to recycle into new Cleanstone product, ensuring a circular, sustainable process that can be repeated over and over again.

At Edna, we’re all about reducing what’s going into the bin and creating a one-of-a-kind experience with eco-conscious materials. So when you see that glowing counter and our jewellery cabinet, know that it’s more than just a design choice - it’s a statement about the future of sustainable fashion spaces!
